Museums
Trier's museums tell 2,000 years of history. The Rheinisches Landesmuseum (Rhineland State Museum) is considered one of the most important antiquities museums in Europe; the Stadtmuseum Simeonstift sits right next to the Porta Nigra (the Black Gate); the Museum am Dom holds the cathedral treasury; and the Karl-Marx-Haus traces the 19th century from 1818 onward.
